Masses of May 13: St. Robert Bellarmine, Bishop, Confessor, and Doctor of the Church

Special Mass times of 8:00 am and 11:00 am.

St. Robert was famous throughout Europe as a theologian, and as a strenuous defender of the Faith in controversy with Protestants.  He joined the Society of Jesus, and was later made Cardinal and Archbishop of Capua.  His numerous writings include works of devotion and instruction, as well as of controversy.  He died A.D. 1621, and was canonised and declared Doctor of the Church in 1931.

Mass of May 14: St. Boniface, Martyr

After a stormy youth, Boniface was converted to the Catholic faith, suffered numerous tortures, and was beheaded A.D. 307.

Mass of May 15: St. John Baptist de la Salle, Confessor
Start: May 15 2019 12:10 pm

Proper on page 1274.  Preface for Ascension on page 881.
St. John Baptist studied theology at the Sorbonne.  Inspired by God to give a Christian education to the poor, he founded the Brothers of the Christians Schools, which soon spread throughout the world.  In private life he treated himself with extreme rigor, and died full of merits and years in A.D. 1719.

Mass of May 18: St. Venantius, Martyr
Start: May 18 2019 8:00 am

Proper on pages 1275, 1017.  Preface for Easter on page 881.
At the age of fifteen, St. Venantius was made to suffer cruel torments, and was finally beheaded at Ancona A.D. 250.
