On Sunday, February 27th, from 11:00am to 2:30pm, St. Rose will host a dinner in the Church Hall.  Cost will be $6 per person or $30 per family.

Pulled Pork SandwichesWe will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, using pork from local farmers, plus:

  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Green Beans
  • Corn
  • Homemade Desserts
  • Tea & Coffee

Come in out of the cold and join us in the Parish Hall (next to the Church at 8th & Chestnut) for good food and good company. The Hall and the Church are both handicapped accessible.

And don't miss the raffles:  a 50/50, and one for several gift certificates to local businesses, including Tower of Pizza, TCBY, Taco Bell, Sprout's Inn, Kelly's Tavern, Gem City Pizzeria, Elder's Family Restaurant, & Cracker Barrel!

First Year Latin class will be held at 1:30-2:30 pm on Wednesdays, and 6:30-7:30 pm on Thursdays. Both classes will cover the same material, so students can attend whichever class best fits their schedule. Contact Aaron Baugher (aaron@baugher.biz, 217.440.0795) for more details.

Adult Religion Class is held at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings. We will go through the official Catechism of the Catholic Church and its Compendium and deal with other subjects as needed. If you would like to attend, please contact the rectory to arrange to get the necessary materials.

Immediately following the 12:10pm Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration until 6:00pm, when there will be the Angelus followed by Benediction.

Advanced Latin class for adults and teenagers, with an emphasis on liturgical Latin, every Thursday evening at 6:15 following Benediction. If you would like to attend, please contact the rectory.

The 12:10pm Mass commemorates St. Casimir, Confessor, and St. Lucius I, Pope & Martyr.  Proper on pages 1198, 1037.  Common Preface on page 886.

The 6:00pm Mass is a Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart.  Proper on page 763.  Preface of the Sacred Heart on page 882.
